Bulky Item Service Overview
United Property Services, Inc. provides our Bulky Item Removal Service throughout Southern California and Los Angeles counties assisting Apartment Portfolio Investment Companies, Residential & Commercial Property Management Companies in dealing with the problem of illegal dumping from within and outside of their properties. UPSI provides both Weekly and On-Call Service to more than 180 properties.
Weekly or On-Call pick-ups may be performed collecting Bulky Items from a central collection area, or from throughout the property checking each trash enclosure area. Each visit to the property will be photographed verifying the item including the property signage or monument identifying the property, and reference location where were picked up from and all photographs contain a GPS tag to verify its location.
Invoicing frequency and pick-up verification reporting may vary if a property has enrolled in our Shared Cost Billing Program and receiving Bulky Item Removal at no cost to the property.

How much will Bulky Item Service cost my property?
Under the Shared Cost Program, there is no charge to the property
How many pickups can I receive weekly? Monthly?
There is no limit to the number of pick-ups a property can have on a weekly or monthly basis.
Is there a minimum pickup requirement? Maximum?
There is no minimum pick-up requirement but there is a minimum charge the property will be invoiced if the invoice is below the minimum pick-up charge. We ask that large pick-ups that will require additional men or time be scheduled in advance of 48 hours to allow for additional time.
Is there anything you won’t remove from the property?
We will not pick up or remove firearms, ammunition or illegal substances. Hazardous materials must be scheduled in advance.
Does shared cost pick up everything at no cost to the property?
The Shared Cost Program does not cost the property a penny and there are no contract or monthly fees. Items that are excluded from the Shared Cost (i.e. appliances, turn items, paint(s), hazmat, or construction materials) generated by the property may not be considered or billed under this program.
Will the tenants know they are now getting billed through the Shared Cost Program?
The service we provide falls under the same accounting code as trash so the residents usually never notice the increase which is usually no more than a Starbucks coffee bill a month.
How long does it take for you to do a pickup after scheduling?
Service is typically scheduled within the next business day or two.
What if a tenant needs a pickup?
Residents can schedule service by sending an SMS/Text to 805-738-7380 or sending an email to servicerequest@upsinc.us. Phone calls are not accepted to schedule service.
