In 2018, UPSI saved a select group of our Apartment clients over $62,600 through its Shared Cost Program.  The program was made available to select clients in 2018 as a unique way to minimize (if not, eliminate) the expenses associated with resident generated bulky item removal from the 150+ multi-family residential communities serviced by United Property Services, Inc.  Specifically, by redirecting the costs where they belong, back to the residents illegally dumping them.

A community of around 300 units enrolled in our Shared Cost Program realized a saving close to $9,000 annually.  Whereas, those clients not enrolled in the program were left absorbing these costs,  paying for the second half of the trash bill that Residence only sees through annual rent increases.

Resident generated Bulky Item Removal alone cost our clients in excess of $327,000 in 2019 for the removal of over 15,500 bulky items illegally dumped by residents.  Meanwhile, those enrolled in our Shared Cost Program enjoyed the same professional bulky item removal at no cost to their property.

Prevention of illegal dumping by residents has proven increasingly difficult if not impossible to control, but it doesn’t have to affect your budget or affect rents in an already competitive market. A growing number of our clients each month are cost-effectively combating illegal dumping by enrolling in our Shared Cost Program. So much so, that we have had to limit the number of new client properties we are able to add each month.
